Alliance Resource Partners Awards Scholarships to Employee Children

Eight graduating high school seniors have been selected for the 2026 Alliance Coal Scholars Program, receiving financial support for their upcoming college and vocational studies. The initiative, which recognizes children of company employees for academic excellence and leadership, also provides achievement awards to teachers who mentored the top-ranked students.

Since its inception in 1997, the program has distributed $627,000 to 283 students. This year, the top three candidates—Emalee Barton, Paige Mullis, and Addy Sutton—earned $2,000 renewable scholarships. Five additional students, including Noah Baker, Hannah Higgs, Caeden Mileur, Mason Saylor, and Carolyn Spratt, received $1,000 awards to assist with their transition to higher education.

Beyond student support, the company honors the educators who facilitated these academic achievements. Josh Maddox and Bethany Sutton received $500 Teacher Achievement Awards after being nominated by the top-ranked scholars. The selection process for all recipients is managed by Scholarship America, ensuring an independent evaluation of applicants' contributions to their schools and communities.
