Under the expanded agreement, ICE Global Consulting will manage site contracts, budgeting, and negotiations, while Ledger Run directs its resources toward advancing its ClinRun platform and automated payment services. By pairing ICE Global’s specialized contracting team with Ledger Run’s AI-powered software, the partnership aims to reduce manual administrative burdens that currently divert research staff from strategic tasks.

Patrick Mizer, Chief Technology Officer at Ledger Run, noted that automating low-value tasks like invoice cross-referencing is essential for the next generation of clinical trial operations. As the ratio of trials to research sites climbs to approximately four-to-one, sponsors are increasingly viewing payment speed and financial transparency as critical differentiators in site recruitment. This sentiment aligns with industry feedback, including observations from Hightower Clinical CEO Brad Hightower, who identified reliable, frictionless payments as a primary criterion for sites choosing which sponsors to support.
