Investors Face September 22 Deadline in PROCEPT BioRobotics Lawsuit

A securities class action lawsuit against PROCEPT BioRobotics is moving forward, with a lead plaintiff deadline set for September 22, 2026. The litigation follows a sharp 48% decline in the company’s share price, triggered by revelations of inventory mismanagement and aggressive sales tactics involving its Aquablation therapy handpieces.

Investors Face September 22 Deadline in PROCEPT BioRobotics Lawsuit

The complaint filed by Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro LLP targets PROCEPT’s financial disclosures between February 28, 2024, and February 25, 2026. Plaintiffs allege that the company artificially inflated revenue figures by offering bulk discounts that incentivized customers to order inventory far exceeding their actual procedural needs. This practice effectively pulled future sales into the present, creating a facade of steady growth that masked deteriorating market demand.

The true scale of the issue emerged through a series of quarterly earnings reports. By February 25, 2026, the company confirmed that excess customer inventory had swelled to over 10,000 units, leading to a 30% sequential cratering in U.S. handpiece sales. Management subsequently moved to terminate the discount program that had incentivized these end-of-quarter bulk orders. Reed Kathrein, the partner at Hagens Berman leading the investigation, stated the firm is examining whether the company intentionally misled investors regarding its sales practices and operational transparency. Investors who purchased common stock during the specified period are encouraged to submit their losses before the upcoming court-imposed deadline.
