Bright Uro Adds Medtech Veterans to Board to Scale Wireless Diagnostics

Joseph DeVivo, currently the CEO of Butterfly Network, joins the Board of Directors with a 37-year track record in medical devices and digital health. His background in scaling AI-guided ultrasound platforms aligns with Bright Uro’s efforts to build Urodynamic Intelligence, a machine learning engine designed to standardize diagnostic outputs. Joining him is Ted Lamson, Ph.D., the co-inventor of the UroLift system. Lamson, who guided the UroLift technology through FDA clearance and a $1.1 billion acquisition by Teleflex, will serve as a Strategic Advisor to the board.

These appointments arrive at a critical juncture for the company as it attempts to replace traditional, operator-dependent testing with the wireless, multi-channel Glean Urodynamics System. Founder and CEO Derek Herrera emphasized that the new leadership brings direct experience in navigating the transition from clinical innovation to standard-of-care adoption. The addition of DeVivo and Lamson, alongside the return of director Kurt Azarbarzin, signals an aggressive push to capture market share in the treatment of lower urinary tract dysfunction.
