Pavion Acquires Communication Company to Boost Midwest Footprint

Chantilly-based systems integrator Pavion has acquired Communication Company, a technology firm with nearly five decades of experience in the Midwest. The deal adds critical communications and healthcare-focused life safety expertise to Pavion’s portfolio, signaling a strategic push to deepen its regional service capabilities and expand its national market share.

Pavion Acquires Communication Company to Boost Midwest Footprint

Founded in 1976, Communication Company has established a strong reputation for servicing healthcare, education, and commercial clients. By folding the firm into its operations, Pavion gains a seasoned local team and specialized expertise in nurse call systems and real-time location services. This move directly complements Pavion’s existing national practice in critical communications and security.

Joe Oliveri, CEO of Pavion, noted that the acquisition aligns with the company’s strategy of partnering with established regional players who bring deep technical proficiency. For current clients of Communication Company, the transition means maintaining local relationships while gaining access to Pavion’s broader resources, which include over 70 locations across the United States and a diverse suite of integrated technology solutions.

Daniel Schmidtendoff, President and CEO of Communication Company, described the acquisition as a new chapter that allows the firm to leverage Pavion’s scale while continuing to meet the evolving needs of its long-standing customer base. Pavion, which generates over $1 billion in annual revenue, continues to execute a rapid growth strategy through targeted acquisitions, having secured a position on the Inc. 5000 list for six consecutive years.
