Planet Fitness Investors Face September Deadline in Fraud Lawsuit

Investors who incurred financial losses following a sharp decline in Planet Fitness stock earlier this year have until September 14, 2026, to apply as lead plaintiffs in a pending securities fraud class action. The litigation stems from the company's abrupt reversal of its financial growth projections and marketing strategy.

Planet Fitness Investors Face September Deadline in Fraud Lawsuit

The legal action, spearheaded by the firm Glancy Prongay Wolke & Rotter LLP, targets the company's performance disclosures from May 7, 2026. On that date, Planet Fitness slashed its same-store growth forecast from a range of 4–5% down to 1%. Management further withdrew a long-term three-year growth algorithm that had been introduced only six months prior, blaming an ineffective marketing campaign and heightened market competition.

Following these disclosures, the company’s share price plummeted by $19.95, a 31.2% drop that closed the trading session at $44.01. The lawsuit alleges that these developments caused significant harm to shareholders. While the court has not yet certified a class, investors who purchased securities during the relevant period may contact the firm to pursue potential recovery or remain absent class members.
