Syspro Debuts Torque to Automate Industrial Decision-Making

London-based Syspro has introduced Torque, an industrial AI platform designed to integrate with existing manufacturing software to automate operational decisions. By logging the reasoning behind every action and maintaining human oversight, the system aims to solve the 'black box' problem that often keeps manufacturers from adopting generative AI tools.

The platform functions by connecting directly to a manufacturer’s existing ERP, MES, and SCADA systems, utilizing nearly five decades of the company's encoded industry knowledge. Unlike generic AI solutions, Torque allows operations managers to build AI agents using plain language, removing the need for manual coding. These agents identify production bottlenecks, inventory discrepancies, or supply chain risks and suggest corrective actions that can be approved or automated by staff.

Central to Torque is the 'Glass House' principle, which ensures that every decision made by the AI is fully auditable. Because the system tracks the specific rules and data sources used for each transaction, operators can verify the logic before execution. This approach is intended to provide a safe environment for digital transformation, allowing mid-sized manufacturers to optimize workflows without risking operational stability or compliance. Following a controlled availability program that began in August, Syspro plans to demonstrate the platform at the International Manufacturing Technology Show in Chicago this September.
