Wix Faces Class Action Lawsuit Following Share Price Collapse

A 27% drop in Wix.com shares this May has triggered a securities class action lawsuit, with investors alleging the company misled them regarding the financial strain caused by its AI-driven initiatives. The legal challenge centers on whether Wix hid the true costs and competitive failures of its Harmony and Base44 platforms.

Wix Faces Class Action Lawsuit Following Share Price Collapse

The lawsuit, filed in the Northern District of Illinois, targets Wix for its conduct between February 19, 2025, and May 12, 2026. Plaintiffs claim the company overstated the commercial benefits of its AI tools while failing to disclose the massive expenses required to support them. By the time of the Q1 2026 earnings report, operating expenses had spiked 46% year-over-year, leading to a sharp decline in operating margins from 21% to 5%.

Management eventually admitted that the Harmony platform suffered from missing capabilities and that professional developers were increasingly turning to competing tools. This disclosure wiped $1.1 billion from the company's market capitalization in a single day. Hagens Berman, the firm leading the investigation, is now soliciting contact from investors who suffered significant losses during the class period. The deadline for investors to seek lead plaintiff status is September 22, 2026.
