Can-Am Unveils Concept Builds as It Commits to Rapid Innovation Cycle

The Defender Prerunner, a 6x6 configuration based on the Defender platform, serves as a specialized race support vehicle. Outfitted with 35-inch tires and a trophy-truck-inspired storage bed, it is engineered for the high-stakes logistics of events like King of the Hammers. Conversely, the Maverick R XRay targets dune culture, featuring a translucent, backlit exoskeleton and a custom 2-wheel drive layout that allows for dynamic lighting displays.

While neither vehicle is slated for mass production, they function as design laboratories for BRP, the parent company of Can-Am. Sandy Scullion, President of Powersports at BRP, stated that these builds underscore a focus on securing the brand's position as the leading global manufacturer in the off-road segment. By leveraging these concepts to engage their community, the company aims to test new aesthetic and functional architectures that will inform future consumer models.
