Christyn Williams Returns to WNBA Roster with Dallas Wings Signing

The 5-foot-11 Arkansas native, who played her collegiate basketball at the University of Connecticut, proved her consistency throughout the season. Over 14 appearances for the Groove, Williams averaged 9.6 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.9 assists while logging 27.5 minutes per game. Her shooting efficiency held at 41.1% from the field.

Greensboro head coach Janice Washington described the signing as a testament to the player's competitive drive and the league's function as a catalyst for professional advancement. Williams is the second athlete to transition from the UPSHOT circuit to a WNBA franchise, following Michelle Onyiah’s signing with the Indiana Fever. The league, co-founded by former WNBA President Donna Orender, aims to sustain this pipeline by providing a high-level platform for talent overlooked by traditional rosters.
