Based in Grande Pointe, Manitoba, the Canadian firm brings proprietary technology to the table, including ENVIROFREEZE low-charge ammonia chillers and RINK LINK remote ice-plant controls. These systems are already utilized in high-profile venues, such as those hosting the Grand Slam of Curling.

For IR Pros CEO Curtis Czemeres, the acquisition is a strategic move to secure technical credibility in demanding climates. The companies intend to triple manufacturing capacity in Manitoba over the next two years, with plans to add 20 to 30 new employees to the workforce. Prairie HVAC/R will maintain its original branding and leadership team while gaining access to IR Pros’ AI-enabled compliance tools, such as the RefrigAgent platform. This collaboration is expected to streamline services for clients in food processing, data centers, and municipal recreation infrastructure, offering a unified cross-border team for complex industrial projects.
