The integration of flexPATH’s specialized portfolio business into Mesirow Fiduciary Solutions combines institutional scale with existing fiduciary expertise. Michael Annin, president of Mesirow Fiduciary Solutions, noted that the move strengthens the firm's discretionary custom portfolio offerings and enhances the support provided to plan sponsors and financial advisors aiming for improved participant outcomes.
Ketan Shah, chief strategy officer and general counsel at Mesirow, characterized the acquisition as a reflection of the firm's bullish outlook on the outsourced fiduciary sector. Mesirow currently oversees approximately $164 billion in assets under management and advisement, supporting nearly 10,000 financial advisors. The firm utilizes a proprietary asset allocation framework that blends conventional assets with liquid private investments and income-focused products. DLA Piper served as legal counsel for Mesirow, while Ropes & Gray represented flexPATH in the transaction.
