Wisconsin Dells Celebrates BridgeUSA Exchange Program Impact

Wisconsin Dells relies on 10,000 seasonal workers to manage the influx of five million annual visitors, making it a critical hub for the BridgeUSA program. During the eleventh stop of its nationwide tour, the Council on International Educational Exchange honored local employers who utilize this international talent to sustain the tourism economy.

The "Waterpark Capital of the World" serves as a primary example of how seasonal exchange programs bridge critical labor gaps. By hosting international college students through the Summer Work Travel program, local businesses extend their operational windows by up to 50 days. This influx of personnel supports the broader regional economy, contributing to the billions of dollars the program generates annually across the United States.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has characterized the initiative as a low-cost strategy to enhance national prosperity and international relations. Beyond the immediate economic gains, the program facilitates cultural exchange, creating long-term advocates for the U.S. abroad. The CIEE tour, which previously visited sites ranging from Yellowstone National Park to Mackinac Island, continues its mission to highlight these community-level successes before moving to Ocean City, Maryland, this September.
