New Energy Equity Promotes Jackie Chambers to President

Annapolis-based New Energy Equity has elevated Chief Investment Officer Jackie Chambers to the role of President, tasking her with spearheading the next stage of the company's expansion. Alongside this appointment, the ALLETE subsidiary has transitioned Bill Francis to Vice President of Development to oversee its growing solar and storage pipeline.

New Energy Equity Promotes Jackie Chambers to President

Chambers joined the firm in 2024, having previously managed project finance and asset strategy at Nexamp and PNC Energy Capital. Her background includes the successful financing of over $500 million in energy assets and the closing of more than 300 MW of solar projects. CEO Josh Kunkel credited her leadership and sector expertise as key drivers for this promotion, noting that she will now align the company's finance, policy, and development strategies to broaden its impact on community and utility-scale projects.

Bill Francis, who arrived at the company in January 2026 as Vice President of Emerging Markets, assumes his new role immediately. His prior tenure at ENGIE North America involved managing battery storage portfolios and acquiring over 100 MW of distributed generation assets. As head of development, he will manage the lifecycle of the company’s solar and storage projects, from initial origination through to construction, aiming to increase the pace of deployment for the firm, which has already developed more than 600 megawatts across 16 states.
