The competition aims to identify the next prominent voice in audio, offering the eventual winner a six-episode podcast series and a guest spot on On Air with Ryan Seacrest. Beyond the career-launching incentives, the campaign serves as a major fundraising drive for the Ryan Seacrest Foundation, which installs interactive media studios in pediatric hospitals. These facilities, known as Seacrest Studios, allow young patients to produce content and interview guests during their medical treatment.
Ryan Seacrest, who founded the nonprofit in 2009, noted that the initiative provides a platform for emerging talent while securing vital resources for the foundation. In 2025, the existing network of 14 studios facilitated over 8,400 hours of live programming for more than three million patients and family members. The funds raised through this competition will be funneled to the foundation via the Action Initiative Team, a 501(c)(3) public charity. Additional support for the event comes from audio technology company RØDE, which joins the campaign as a sponsor. Registration for the competition is currently open to the public.
