Riverside Theatre Announces 2026-2027 Season Lineup

Under the new leadership of executive producer Jon R. Moses, Florida’s Riverside Theatre has unveiled a six-production season for 2026–2027. The schedule features a world premiere and a Southeast premiere, focusing on narratives that explore the intersection of personal identity, historical tension, and the pursuit of human connection.

The upcoming season kicks off in October with the Southeast premiere of My Vaudeville Man!, a two-person musical exploring the complex bond between a performer and his mother. Following this, the stage transforms for a January 2027 production of Clue, a farce set against the backdrop of 1954 McCarthyism. The theatre will then present the world premiere of The Mouse & The Mustache, a new play by Anthony Dodge examining the 1945 creative collaboration between Walt Disney and Salvador Dalí.

The final half of the season leans into classic musical theatre and emotional drama. Leonard Bernstein’s On the Town brings mid-century New York energy to the stage in February, followed by the Tony Award-winning The Light in the Piazza in March. The season concludes in April with Hairspray, a high-energy production centered on the civil rights movement. According to Moses, the programming aims to make the theatre an active participant in regional life by selecting stories that resonate with contemporary community questions regarding truth, love, and joy.
