Mercy Flights and instED Launch In-Home Emergency Care in Oregon

The program, which runs through September 2028, leverages instED’s clinical infrastructure to support Mercy Flights' existing emergency medical services. By integrating nurse navigation, telehealth physician oversight, and specialized care coordination technology, the collaboration provides a pathway for patients who require timely medical attention but do not need acute hospital care. This model emphasizes treating patients in their own environment while ensuring seamless follow-up services.

Don Stiffler, CEO of instED, noted that the partnership aligns with the broader goals of the federal Rural Health Transformation Program, which seeks to improve outcomes through sustainable, technology-driven care models. Mercy Flights CEO Sheila Clough emphasized that the grant validates the shift toward delivering healthcare in innovative, community-centered ways. By utilizing instED’s established mobile health platform, Mercy Flights can expand its reach across southern Oregon without the need to independently develop complex digital and clinical support systems.
