AI-Native Hit 'The Playboy Got Knocked Up' Returns for Season Two

After commanding 25% of Anamana’s platform revenue and capturing the attention of over half its user base, the breakout micro-serial The Playboy Got Knocked Up returns August 15. The rapid turnaround of the second season highlights the efficiency of the show’s all-female production team, Studio Savage.

Studio Savage produced the inaugural 30-episode run for just over $4,000 in compute costs, leveraging Anamana Studio’s generative AI software to bypass the traditional overhead of live-action or animation. The series follows the unexpected romance between nightclub host Levi Cole and a bodyguard who turns out to be a billionaire. Following the first season's cliffhanger, the team spent 14 days generating the new installments, balancing creative control with the technical constraints of AI-driven visual consistency.

Showrunner Xiaopi, a Columbia University MFA graduate, leads a team of film school alumni including Linnea, Lance, Cyert, YT, and Rachel. While the group navigated challenges—such as occasional drift in the series' 2.5D art style—they credited the platform's centralized workflow for allowing them to iterate on character positioning and cinematography beats with unprecedented speed. The upcoming season promises to raise the stakes for its leads, with the introduction of a new character, an Italian excursion for Levi, and a wedding engagement for Cillian. All 30 episodes of the second season will be available on the Anamana app starting August 15.
