Chengdu-based Beyang Therapeutics Secures $30 Million in Series A Funding

Beyang Therapeutics has closed an oversubscribed $30 million Series A round to accelerate its AI-driven drug discovery efforts. The funding, co-led by Legend Capital and Shanghai Healthcare Capital, will fuel the development of the company’s ExCEED platform and push two key drug candidates into advanced clinical stages.

Chengdu-based Beyang Therapeutics Secures $30 Million in Series A Funding

Founded in 2021, the company utilizes its proprietary ExCEED platform to generate novel molecular scaffolds, distinguishing its approach from traditional methods that rely on modifying existing chemical cores. This computational engine recently demonstrated its efficacy by placing 8th globally in the OpenADMET blind prediction challenge. The fresh capital will support the expansion of international research teams and the progression of two primary assets: a non-invasive ophthalmic therapy and a second-generation Menin inhibitor.

BT01001, an eye drop designed to treat retinal diseases, has completed Phase I studies and is now transitioning toward patient trials as a potential alternative to intravitreal injections. Meanwhile, the second-generation Menin inhibitor, BT01002, is currently undergoing IND-enabling studies to address resistance mutations in acute leukemia. According to founder Qiyue Hu, the financing confirms the market’s confidence in the company’s ability to deliver best-in-class assets, with the firm now looking to secure further external partnerships to scale its reach.
