Metacon Revenue Grows as Financial Losses Deepen in Q2

Metacon reported a 15 percent revenue increase for the second quarter of 2026, reaching SEK 65 million. Despite this growth driven by project activity in Greece and Romania, the hydrogen technology firm saw its operating loss widen to SEK 32.2 million, compared to a loss of SEK 11.1 million in the same period last year.

Metacon Revenue Grows as Financial Losses Deepen in Q2

The Stockholm-based company’s performance for the first half of 2026 shows a 30 percent revenue climb to SEK 138.5 million. However, bottom-line pressure remains significant, with earnings per share falling to SEK -0.03 for the quarter. These results reflect a period of intensive capital deployment and project scaling, including receipt of EUR 4.1 million from Motor Oil projects and a successful rights issue that raised approximately SEK 77 million.

Operational shifts are also underway as the company looks toward future infrastructure. On July 2, Metacon secured SEK 111 million in funding from Klimatklivet to build a hydrogen production reference plant in Uppsala. Amid these developments, the firm confirmed that CFO Mattias Jansson will step down in November 2026. The company continues to focus on its core electrolysis and catalytic reforming technologies, including the HIWAR reactor system, as it navigates a challenging fiscal landscape.
