Shurco Expands Portfolio With Heavy Motions Acquisition

Yankton-based Shurco, a specialist in cargo containment systems, has acquired Ontario, California’s Heavy Motions. The deal brings high-end hydraulic components into Shurco’s existing tarp and covering lineup, marking a strategic move by owner Behrman Capital to broaden the company’s reach into the construction and waste management sectors.

Shurco Expands Portfolio With Heavy Motions Acquisition

The integration of Heavy Motions, founded in 2007, allows Shurco to offer a more unified suite of motion products. Shurco CEO Chad Heminover noted that these hydraulic components often integrate directly into existing tarping systems, providing an immediate value-add for current customers. The acquisition follows Behrman Capital’s recent establishment of a single-asset continuation fund, which provided the necessary capital to drive this expansion.

Dean Ding, co-founder of Heavy Motions, will remain involved as the teams merge operations. While financial terms remain undisclosed, the move signals a shift for Shurco toward more complex industrial technologies. With 19 global facilities, Shurco intends to leverage its existing distribution network to accelerate the growth of the newly acquired hydraulic product line across the agriculture, oil, and industrial sectors.
