R-Zero Launches AI Platform to Cut Commercial Building Energy Costs

Commercial buildings often run on outdated schedules, ignoring shifting occupancy patterns and equipment decay. R-Zero is moving to change this with the launch of Continuous Building Savings, a Physical AI tool that identifies high-impact operational adjustments to trim energy expenses without requiring expensive hardware overhauls or major capital investments.

R-Zero Launches AI Platform to Cut Commercial Building Energy Costs

The platform integrates directly with existing Building Management Systems (BMS) via BACnet, allowing it to ingest data on HVAC operation, occupancy, and environmental conditions. By bypassing traditional, alarm-heavy monitoring systems, the software isolates specific inefficiencies that drive unnecessary costs. Each recommendation provides a clear financial estimate and the technical data required for building engineers to implement a fix, often at little to no additional cost.

Jennifer Nuckles, CEO of R-Zero, noted that commercial buildings function as living systems yet are frequently managed based on assumptions that are years old. By applying industry standards like ASHRAE guidelines to real-time data, the system helps owners move beyond one-time energy audits. The service, which builds upon R-Zero’s existing ventilation optimization technology, aims to lower maintenance costs and extend equipment life by correcting the underlying mechanical behaviors that cause energy waste and occupant complaints.
