For Dr. Elaine Batchlor, CEO of MLK Community Healthcare, the funding provides the necessary relief to move patients out of temporary field setups and into a more dignified clinical environment. The project is a response to the stark health disparities in South Los Angeles, where residents face some of the state's highest rates of chronic disease and limited access to primary care.
