The lawsuit claims that Black Rock Coffee Bar utilized a "concentric circle" growth model to justify rapid store expansion to investors. According to the complaint, management assured the market that opening new locations would not cannibalize revenue from existing high-volume outlets. However, the legal filing contends these projections were false and that the company withheld internal data regarding significant sales transfers.
By the time the suit was filed on June 18, 2026, the company’s stock price had fallen to $7.72, marking a decline of more than 61% from its IPO price. Hagens Berman partner Reed Kathrein, who is leading the investigation, stated that the firm is working to determine when executives became aware that their expansion strategy was actively eroding revenue at established locations. Investors who purchased common stock between September 12, 2025, and May 12, 2026, are eligible to participate in the case.
