Beijing Hosts 2026 International Congress of Basic Science

The congress features over 500 academic sessions, including high-profile dialogues such as Mathematics Night, Physics Night, and Engineering Night, where Fields Medal and Turing Award recipients will examine emerging global trends. Beyond technical sessions, the program introduces a Women Scientists Forum and a dedicated AI track aimed at identifying core theoretical bottlenecks.

Events extend to Tsinghua University, where world-leading physicists and mathematicians will engage directly with young scholars. The schedule also includes an Explore Huairou tour, showcasing local research ecosystems at Huairou Science City and highlighting the integration of technological advancement with rural development. Now in its fourth year, the congress is co-hosted by the Beijing Municipal Government, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the China Association for Science and Technology, and the International Consortium of Chinese Mathematicians.
