The film, titled "Brian Dickinson's Story of Success: How I Survived Mount Everest," claimed the top honor in the General Documentary category at the 47th Annual Telly Awards. This project serves as a centerpiece for the university's ongoing series designed to showcase the resilience and professional evolution of its graduates. Dickinson, who previously served as a faculty member at the institution, provides a firsthand account of the navigation challenges he faced while blinded at extreme altitude.
April Worden, director of Alumni and Career Marketing at the university, noted that the recognition highlights the impact of authentic storytelling. The project has gained significant industry traction, building on a Gold ADDY Award received in April 2026 from the Phoenix Chapter of the American Advertising Federation. The documentary is currently available for public viewing on the university's official YouTube channel, offering an intimate look at the intersections of personal adversity and career determination.
