Humble Brands Strips Down the Hair Care Routine

The hair care aisle has spent a decade bloating with patented complexes and multi-step rituals, but Taos-based Humble Brands is moving in the opposite direction. The company is launching its first hair care line, Bar Hair Care, focusing on two simple, plastic-free duos that rely on essential oils instead of synthetic formulas.

Most shampoo bottles are primarily water, a reality Humble Brands aims to disrupt by offering concentrated, waterless bars. Rather than saturating the market with specialized formulas, the company identified two primary hair profiles—normal-to-dry and normal-to-oily—and developed a single duo for each. The Strength & Volume set, scented with Bergamot and Ginger, utilizes hydrolyzed rice protein and baobab to provide structure without the weight of traditional buildup. Conversely, the Balance & Shine duo uses rosemary, mint, willow bark, and charcoal to manage excess oil and smooth the hair cuticle for a natural reflection.

Duane Primozich, CEO of Humble Brands, maintains that the brand wins by subtracting rather than adding layers to a consumer's daily routine. The new products are pH-balanced, color-safe, and free from silicones and sulfates, arriving in entirely plastic-free, recyclable packaging. The bars are currently available through the company’s website and Amazon, retailing at $13.99 apiece, with the full duos priced at $27.98.
