Mine Vision Systems Shakes Up Leadership to Scale Underground AI

As underground mining operations accelerate their shift toward data-driven decision-making, Pittsburgh-based Mine Vision Systems is reinforcing its executive ranks. The company has appointed three new leaders to oversee product strategy, enterprise AI, and global sales, aiming to convert its 3D mapping data into actionable mining intelligence.

CEO Michael Smocer stated the new team is tasked with translating complex technical capabilities into rapid, on-site results. Gustavo Guzman joins as Vice President of Product and Strategy, bringing a background in materials informatics from Citrine Informatics and Braskem to refine the company's long-term product roadmap. Rick Wilson, formerly of Merlin Labs and Uber’s Advanced Technologies Group, steps into the role of Head of Enterprise AI to scale the analytics layer of the FaceCapture platform.

Nick Brezonik, the new Chief Sales Officer, arrives from Five9 with two decades of experience introducing transformative technologies to traditional industries. His mandate includes expanding the reach of FaceCapture and MVS Intelligence across global mining operations. By integrating these specific skill sets, the company intends to bridge the gap between high-fidelity underground scanning and the immediate needs of mine operators.
