The exchange’s growth trajectory in the first half of 2026 reflects broader shifts in the Israeli capital market. Average daily trading volume in equities surged by 65% to NIS 5.7 billion, a performance attributed in part to the transition to Friday trading sessions. This structural change has successfully boosted foreign investor participation, which rose to 41% compared to 12.5% on Sundays last year. Total market capitalization has climbed significantly, reaching NIS 2.7 trillion by the end of June.
CEO Ittai Ben Zeev noted that the results validate the exchange's current strategic plan, which focuses on broadening the retail investor base and deepening international involvement. While the equity market faced volatility throughout the half, key indices remained resilient, with the TA-35 index posting a 12% gain year-to-date. Alongside improved trading metrics, the IPO market showed sustained activity, with 15 new companies listing in the first half and raising NIS 6.1 billion. The newly approved buyback program, slated to run through December 31, 2026, signals management’s confidence in the exchange’s ongoing liquidity and operational health.
