This strategic consolidation merges two decades of industry experience into a single corporate entity. Previously, CarShield relied on American Auto Shield as an external partner, a common industry structure that often resulted in fragmented communication between sales teams and claims processors. By internalizing these operations, the company seeks to remove the middleman, theoretically accelerating repair approvals and streamlining the experience for vehicle owners.
CarShield CEO Nick Hamilton stated the move allows the firm to leverage internal data to innovate faster and standardize the customer experience. The combined organization now encompasses 1,500 employees and manages a portfolio representing over 3 million customers. Jason Currier, president of American Auto Shield, noted that the transition aims to strengthen relationships with repair facilities while maintaining the existing service infrastructure. For current policyholders, the acquisition brings no immediate changes to contract terms, contact points, or the existing claims process. The company maintains that all active coverage remains in effect, with the integration focusing on backend efficiency rather than customer-facing adjustments.
