Manulife | Comvest Credit Partners Secures $5.4 Billion for Direct Lending

Manulife | Comvest Credit Partners has finalized its largest fundraise to date, securing $5.4 billion in investable capital for its seventh flagship vintage, CCP VII. The capital injection underscores a robust appetite among institutional investors for middle-market private credit strategies that prioritize complexity and structural expertise over broadly syndicated debt.

The new fund targets a wide spectrum of North American middle-market companies, utilizing both cash flow and asset-based lending. By avoiding the most crowded segments of the market, the platform leans into relationship-driven origination to secure higher risk-adjusted returns. According to Global Head Robert O'Sullivan, the firm’s strategy relies on specialized structuring that remains effective regardless of broader market fluctuations.

Institutional interest has been swift, with a substantial portion of the $5.4 billion already deployed. Anne Valentine Andrews, Global Head of Private Markets at Manulife Investment Management, noted that the successful raise highlights a shift in investor preference toward scaled platforms capable of maintaining rigorous underwriting discipline. With $21.5 billion in assets under management, the platform continues to leverage Manulife's global financial scale to source deals that require creative financing solutions for both sponsored and non-sponsored entities.
