Bybit Hires Former VARA Official Peter Loo as Compliance Chief

Loo brings over 25 years of experience to the role, having navigated the intersection of traditional investment banking and the emerging digital asset sector. His background includes significant tenures at Barclays Capital and MF Global, alongside his recent foundational work at VARA, where he helped draft licensing frameworks and market conduct policies. Bybit CEO Ben Zhou noted that Loo’s unique perspective—having worked both as a regulator and an industry participant—is essential for the company’s transition from a high-growth exchange to a globally compliant institution.

At Bybit, Loo will oversee the integration of legal and compliance frameworks across multiple jurisdictions.
