CEO Jangwon Seo attributed the firm's financial resilience to a strategy that integrates economic performance with core sustainability values. A primary focus of the 2025 report is the company's roadmap toward achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. To support this transition, Coway recently commissioned its third on-site solar power plant at the Yugu facility in South Korea. This addition is projected to increase the firm's total annual solar power generation by nearly 30 percent over the next two years. Beyond energy production, the company reported success in resource circularity, surpassing its internal targets for the use of recycled ABS plastics by 27 percent.
Governance and consumer-centric innovation also feature prominently in the new disclosures. Coway has revamped its board structure by introducing a Senior Independent Director system and establishing committees dedicated to related-party transactions and compensation. These efforts, paired with a commitment to double the shareholder return rate to 40 percent, earned the company recognition as an 'Outstanding Value-Up Company' from the Korea Exchange. On the product side, the firm continues to utilize its proprietary customer feedback loop to drive development, most notably in its Icon series water purifiers and the expansion of the BEREX wellness line.
