Ninth Circuit Rejects Class Action Against Suzuki Over Brake Claims

The litigation, Jackson et al. v. Suzuki Motor of America, Inc., collapsed before reaching class certification. In its decision, the appellate panel agreed with the district court’s finding that the complaint lacked evidence of a specific design flaw. Furthermore, the plaintiffs were unable to establish a clear causal link between the corrosion mentioned in their claims and the actual performance issues encountered by riders.

Following the ruling, the Ninth Circuit denied requests for reconsideration and refused further leave to amend the complaint. Suzuki officials expressed satisfaction with the outcome, affirming their confidence in the engineering and safety standards of their motorcycle line.
