VanDyke Software Updates VShell Server with Automated Diagnostics

The new version from the Albuquerque-based developer shifts away from manual configuration tasks by introducing a diagnostic scanner. This tool probes existing settings for irregularities, flagging potential errors that could compromise server performance. Product Manager Danielle Argiro noted that the control panel now actively reports problematic setting combinations, a move designed to mitigate unforeseen configuration clashes.

Beyond diagnostics, the release expands administrative oversight for public-key authentication. Operators can now restrict accepted algorithms to meet specific internal or external security mandates, moving away from a broad-acceptance model. The software also introduces event-based triggers, allowing for automated email alerts upon failed file transfers or pattern-based actions on file directories.

VanDyke has extended its platform support to include macOS 15 Sequoia, macOS 26 Tahoe, and Kubuntu versions 22.04 and 24.04. Prospective users can access a fully functional 60-day evaluation copy, which includes direct access to the company’s technical support team for assistance during the deployment and testing process.
