Adidas to Outfit Over 100 Nations at Inaugural Esports Nations Cup

When the inaugural Esports Nations Cup kicks off this November in Riyadh, the traditional prestige of national team sports will collide with competitive gaming. The Esports Foundation has tapped adidas as its official global partner, tasking the sportswear giant with designing custom kits for 2,000 athletes representing over 100 countries.

Starting November 2, 2026, the four-week tournament will feature players competing across 16 major esports titles. The partnership aims to solidify the legitimacy of national-level play, providing participants with uniquely tailored jerseys and tracksuits that mirror the identity markers found in traditional global sports. Mohammed Al Nimer, Chief Commercial Officer at the Esports Foundation, noted that the move is designed to instill a sense of national pride and ambition, bridging the gap between digital competition and global sporting culture.

Beyond apparel, the event marks a significant structural shift for the industry. The Esports Foundation has already mobilized more than 700 coaches across 100 territories to oversee player development. The tournament is backed by a $45 million funding commitment, which includes a $20 million prize pool distributed with equal pay per placement across all games, alongside a dedicated $20 million fund aimed at fostering local talent pathways and national team infrastructure.
