The 22-minute film follows the journey of a survivor, detailing the coordination required between law enforcement and victim services to facilitate a secure escape. By highlighting the transition from initial rescue to long-term trauma recovery and education, the documentary emphasizes the necessity of a structured support network. Its release follows significant critical recognition, including six Telly Awards and a Diamond Globe win at the New York International Film Festival.

Beyond traditional advocacy, the Safe House Project leverages modern technology to maintain its reach. The organization utilizes Simply Report, an AI-driven tool capable of evaluating submissions in over 200 languages against 700 behavioral indicators to assist law enforcement. Since its founding by Kristi Wells and Brittany Dunn in 2017, the nonprofit has expanded its impact significantly. In 2025 alone, the project served 2,644 survivors, supported by a network of over 4,000 safe homes and trained more than 550,000 individuals to recognize the signs of trafficking.
