AIR Debuts Upgraded AIR ONE Prototype at EAA AirVenture

The updated design represents a significant departure from earlier prototypes, incorporating an airframe engineered by EDAG to streamline production and structural integrity. Propulsion reliability has been bolstered through custom NIDEC motors, while the cockpit now features Dynon Avionics' SkyView HDX flight display system. These hardware changes are complemented by ergonomic improvements, including premium seating and an overhead control panel designed to simplify the pilot’s interaction with the aircraft.

CEO and co-founder Rani Plaut noted that the configuration serves as a specialized platform for the company’s upcoming piloted flight test program. By leveraging data gathered from previous uncrewed flight cycles, AIR aims to bridge the gap between experimental development and practical, accessible aviation. The company is showcasing the aircraft at booth #834 throughout the Oshkosh event, where leadership is also discussing parallel efforts in autonomous cargo logistics for defense and commercial sectors.
