The festivities begin on October 23 with an awards gala at Tribeca 360, honoring Indian American leaders in medicine, philanthropy, and entrepreneurship. The following day, the Times Square stage hosts an array of programming, including a Diwali Bazaar and a dedicated Kids Zone featuring diya painting and rangoli art. The 'Colors of India and America' afternoon segment will highlight dance performances from Indian, Indo-Caribbean, and Hispanic groups, reflecting the festival's focus on inclusive, cross-cultural connections.
The evening concludes with a signature Diya Lighting Ceremony, synchronized with a countdown on the Ball Drop Tower screen. The musical lineup features Filmfare Award winner Kanika Kapoor, Grammy-nominated rapper Raja Kumari, Indian Idol 13 winner Rishi Singh, and finalist Shanmukha Priya. Additional performances include Guinness World Record holder Sparsh Shah, chef and performer Kunal Lamba, and Saanvi Nacha. Founder Neeta Bhasin emphasized that the event serves to instill cultural pride in South Asian American youth while promoting the universal values of harmony and togetherness.
