Jason Meredith, president of Solid Missile Systems at Ursa Major, framed the deal as a strategic move to bolster the resilience of the U.S. defense supply chain. The company intends to leverage its proprietary Lynx manufacturing architecture, a system already capable of producing hundreds of motors annually, to meet the Navy's rigorous performance requirements.

This agreement follows a previous $25 million joint investment centered on solid rocket motor prototyping. By focusing on scalable, adaptable production, the Colorado-based aerospace firm seeks to stabilize the supply of propulsion technology required for modern maritime combat. Operations for this contract will draw upon the company's established facilities in Berthoud and Youngstown, Ohio, as the Navy works to accelerate the delivery of critical ordnance to Sailors.
