Generic Drug Antitrust Settlement Claims Now Open

Consumers and third-party payers who purchased specific generic prescription drugs between May 1, 2009, and December 31, 2019, are now eligible to file for a share of $533 million in class action settlements. The funds resolve claims against several major manufacturers accused of inflating prices through anti-competitive practices.

The settlements involve Sandoz Inc., Fougera Pharmaceuticals Inc., Apotex Corp., Heritage Pharmaceuticals Inc., and Sun/Taro Pharmaceuticals. These companies, while denying wrongdoing, have collectively agreed to pay $533 million to resolve allegations that they violated antitrust laws, causing end-payers to overpay for medication. The litigation remains active against other non-settling defendants.

Eligible claimants include individuals and entities—such as insurers or employers with self-funded plans—who paid for or provided reimbursement for the affected drugs in the United States, excluding Indiana and Ohio. To receive a payment, claimants must submit documentation via the official settlement website or by mail no later than November 9, 2026. Payouts will be issued on a pro-rata basis, calculated according to the total amount spent on the specified drugs during the decade-long class period. Detailed instructions and a full list of the named generic drugs are available at the GenericDrugsEndPayerSettlement website.
