The volunteer efforts were executed through the company’s BLUE (Building Lives Up Everywhere) program, which saw staff members and their families pack essential hygiene and heat-relief items. These supplies are currently being funneled through regional partners, including Central Arizona Shelter Services, the Northern Nevada Dream Center, and Youth On Their Own.
Justin Brown, President and CEO of Southwest Gas, noted that the anniversary served as a prompt to turn corporate commitment into direct community action. The $60,000 contribution funded the procurement of materials for the kits, which were distributed to address the immediate needs of vulnerable populations facing extreme summer temperatures. According to partner organizations, the kits provide not only necessary resources but also a crucial sense of stability for those navigating housing insecurity.
