University of Phoenix Targets Tuition Costs With Credit Transfer Initiative

The institution is now intensifying its push to help learners shorten their degree timelines through a mix of scholarships and prior learning assessments.

Beyond traditional credit transfers, the university is promoting pathways for students to earn credit through military service, national testing programs, and work with external providers like Sophia Learning, StraighterLine, and Study.com. These alternatives aim to eliminate redundant coursework, a strategy Vice President for Admissions Devin Andrews describes as a way to chart a more efficient path to graduation.

To manage these options, the university has launched a "Savings Explorer" tool alongside a comprehensive scholarship guide. New students pursuing bachelor's degrees may qualify for the Transfer Student Scholarship, which offers up to $3,000 across 20 courses for those transferring between 12 and 60 credits. Additional financial support is available through external partnerships, including current offerings from iGrad and Study.com, which provide specific awards for eligible applicants.
