By characterizing deactivated generation sites through technical, economic, and community lenses, the team intends to transform legacy assets into engines for regional development.
Dr. Brian Anderson, Executive VP of Team KeyLogic, noted that the effort brings national lab-caliber analytics to the Commonwealth’s infrastructure planning. Collaborating with the non-profit research group EPRI, the team will integrate advanced modeling with real-world transmission strategies. This approach balances the retirement of older power plants with the urgent need for expanded grid capacity, ensuring that future infrastructure decisions are backed by rigorous, data-driven analysis.
