The facility, capable of producing approximately 1.3 million metric tons of ammonia annually, stands as one of the largest and most efficient single-loop sites in the world. By leveraging its proximity to the Gulf Coast's deep industrial logistics network and abundant natural gas feedstock, the project became a cornerstone of North American ammonia export capacity. Lotus Infrastructure Partners, alongside MB Energy, managed the project's financing and commercial structuring throughout its construction.
Philipp Pletka, managing director at Lotus, noted that the asset required disciplined execution across all phases of development. For Yara International, the acquisition serves to bolster its position as a global leader in ammonia and crop nutrition. The transaction is currently pending standard regulatory approvals and closing conditions. JP Morgan served as the exclusive financial advisor for GCA Holdings LLC, with Vinson & Elkins LLP providing legal counsel.
