Infineon Forced to Pull GaN Products from electronica China Over Injunction

The conflict originated in late 2024 when Innoscience filed suit in the Suzhou Intermediate People's Court, alleging Infineon infringed on two core GaN technology patents. On May 27, 2026, the court ruled in favor of Innoscience, awarding RMB 10 million in damages and issuing preliminary injunctions against the sale, importation, and marketing of the contested hardware. Infineon sought a reconsideration from the Supreme People's Court, but that appeal was rejected in its entirety on June 12, leaving the injunctions legally binding.

Despite the finality of the ruling, Infineon featured the prohibited items at its Shanghai exhibition stand on July 1. Innoscience representatives alerted the Shanghai Pudong Intellectual Property Dispute People's Mediation Committee, who conducted an on-site inspection of the booth. Upon reviewing the judicial orders, the mediation team compelled the immediate removal of the products. Innoscience maintains that as a global entity, Infineon is obligated to uphold local judicial mandates, signaling a broader intent to aggressively protect its proprietary semiconductor innovations through international legal channels.
