Cognizant integrates GPT-5.5 to accelerate enterprise cyber remediation

Cognizant is deploying OpenAI’s GPT-5.5 with Trusted Access for Cyber to bridge the gap between identifying software vulnerabilities and executing verified patches. By joining the OpenAI Daybreak Cyber Partner Program, the firm aims to shift enterprise security from mere discovery toward automated, human-validated remediation at scale.

The partnership targets the remediation bottleneck where many organizations struggle to address security findings efficiently. Leveraging a workforce of over 5,000 security professionals, Cognizant is embedding frontier AI models into existing defensive workflows, including threat modeling, secure code reviews, and incident response. This approach focuses on augmenting deterministic controls rather than replacing them, ensuring that human oversight remains central to the security lifecycle.

Cognizant is utilizing its own internal infrastructure as a testing ground, operating as its own 'Client Zero.' By applying GPT-5.5 across its internal repositories and CI/CD pipelines before client deployment, the firm aims to refine the operational logic required for secure, large-scale implementation. Sandra Notardonato, Global Head of Partner Development, noted that the core value lies in pairing advanced AI models with the institutional context necessary for responsible, enterprise-grade application.
