The upcoming competition, set for October 2-3, 2026, at Life Time Frisco, offers a $25,000 prize purse for the top-performing male and female athletes. Registration for the 144 available spots begins July 14 for Life Time members, with non-member access opening July 16. The event mirrors the format established at the company’s first dedicated HYBRID XT studio, which opened in Minneapolis at the Target Center in 2025.
This expansion aligns with broader industry trends identified by the American College of Sports Medicine, which currently ranks functional fitness among the most significant developments in the health sector. The HYBRID XT program is designed to bridge the gap between daily training and high-level competition, integrating endurance work like rowing and SkiErg with functional strength training involving barbells, sleds, and rotational movements.
Wes Robertson, LT Games Race Director, noted that the momentum behind hybrid fitness continues to build as athletes seek new ways to measure strength and endurance. Beyond the competitive aspect, Life Time intends for these studios to serve as year-round training hubs for members. The Frisco facility is now part of a growing portfolio of athletic events that includes roughly 30 national competitions, ranging from gravel cycling to endurance running.
