People Analytics Market Cools to $12.2B as Vendors Unbundle Services

The people analytics technology market reached $12.2 billion in 2025, but the 26% growth rate signals a shift from the rapid expansion seen in 2022. As the sector matures, vendors are aggressively unbundling consulting services from software subscriptions and shifting the responsibility of ethical AI implementation onto the buyer.

While revenue continues to climb from the $9.7 billion recorded in 2024, the industry is entering a more restrictive phase. RedThread Research’s latest study reveals that the era of all-inclusive subscriptions is ending. Only a quarter of vendors now include consulting in their packages, compared to more than half just two years ago, forcing organizations to navigate integration and implementation costs independently.

Market Maturation and AI Realities

This cooling growth is accompanied by a surge in merger and acquisition activity, which quadrupled in 2025 as major platforms absorbed smaller point solutions to fill gaps in their suites. Meanwhile, the integration of artificial intelligence has become standard, yet the technology remains largely superficial. While 89% of vendors now offer AI tools, 70% have focused strictly on basic copilots and assistants rather than the autonomous agents capable of complex workflow automation.

Internal governance has seen a notable rise, with 94% of firms adopting formal codes of ethics. However, this focus on internal compliance has come at the expense of client support. RedThread analysts point to a significant decline in the guidance vendors provide to customers, particularly regarding data security and ethical AI deployment. As the market becomes increasingly transactional, the burden of ensuring responsible data practices is moving away from the technology provider and directly onto the corporate buyer.
