Capone brings four decades of experience in the diagnostics and life sciences sectors to the role. During his tenure as CEO of Myriad Genetics, he oversaw the company’s transition into a precision medicine organization by broadening its molecular diagnostics portfolio. His background also includes leadership positions at Eli Lilly, where he focused on pharmaceutical commercialization and strategic business development.
Sera Prognostics CEO Zhenya Lindgardt noted that Capone’s expertise in navigating complex reimbursement environments and payer landscapes will be pivotal as the company seeks to increase adoption of its blood-based biomarker test. The PreTRM test allows clinicians to assess individual risk for preterm delivery between the 18th and 20th weeks of pregnancy. With preterm birth remaining a leading cause of neonatal health complications, the company is prioritizing broader market penetration to reduce the medical and financial burden associated with premature delivery.
